Happy 4th Blogversary!

I can hardly believe that my 4th Blogversary is here. How in the world haven’t I run out of lessons, musings, adventures, and news to share with you?

As I’ve said in the past, I will continue to write and speak as long as the Lord keeps giving me something to say.

I’m grateful that you continue to show up and read my posts. Quite a few of you have been with me since my very first posts. How lovely! Thank you!

I’m also thankful to those of you who took a moment to fill out my recent Reader Survey. I’m touched to hear that you are being blessed by my blog and my books.

A reader comment that stood out to me was:

“Waiting on God Well gave me time to address a deep prayer request of my heart I had sort of ‘buried.” I took your book on a plane trip, underlined and prayed my way thru, even journaling some. Thank you for your encouragement!”

This kind of feedback helps to encourage me to keep writing and sharing parts of my faith journey with you.

I plan to continue encouraging you as you wait on God and believe Him for the impossible.

I want to encourage you to live your God-given dreams! I plan to do so right here on my blog and through my upcoming book and events. Please stay tuned!

Happy New Year & My One Word!

I love the start of a new year! I enjoy when the year is filled with promise! I get excited about all that God has in store for the next twelve months.

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while now, you know that I like to prayerfully choose one word to help define the upcoming year.

I’m delighted to share that my one word for this year is:

SOAR!

After many years of waiting and preparing, the Lord is releasing me and allowing me to live out many dreams that I have been hoping and praying for for a long time.

I believe God wants me to dream bigger and to reach new heights.

I’m reminded of the following Bible verses:

“Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom. He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” (Isaiah 40:28-31)

Did you catch what happens to those who hope in the Lord? They will renew their strength and SOAR on wings like eagles. I love it!

Waiting on God is not in vain and it doesn’t last forever. There is a time and season for God’s promises to be fulfilled. Glory! As it says in Ecclesiastes 3:1, “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.”

I’m looking forward to God surprising me and astounding me in 2017 and beyond!

What does this mean for Abounding Faith? It means you can look forward to my third book being released, God willing, in the spring! The book will encourage you on your faith journey and picks up where Waiting on God Well and Abounding Faith left off. I’ll be sharing more info in the upcoming weeks and months so please stay tuned.

Greetings After Speaking at the United Nations!

I have felt drawn to the United Nations since at least 2008. This past Wednesday, the Lord allowed me to speak at one of the United Nations buildings to a lovely group of Christians who work there! All Glory to God!

I pray you’re blessed by the short video above!

Speaking to the nations about my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ was a true honor and privilege! A few precious people asked me for prayer afterwards and shared that God had spoken to them through my message. I’m so honored and humbled when anyone says that. God is so Good!

Waiting on God is not in vain. God is moving and I’m excited! Here’s a snapshot of that milestone day for me.

Thanks for being on this faith journey with me! I’m looking forward to what’s ahead in this new season!

Please note that next week I plan to share some thoughts about my Senior Pastor of more than a decade who passed away that same day. I will miss Pastor Johansson dearly, but I am rejoicing that he is now in Heaven with Jesus!

Get Ready to Write Your Book!

Do you have a book idea burning inside of you but you’re not sure how to organize your thoughts and bring your manuscript to life? Are you struggling to figure out where to start with your story and fighting writer’s block every time you sit in front of your computer screen or try to put pen to paper? Are you interested in learning more about the world of indie publishing?

I’ve been writing since I was a child, and I have a Master’s Degree in Journalism from New York University. I have written for various publications including The New York Times and was an associate editor and writer at Latina magazine. My books Waiting on God Well: How to Prevent Breaking Down on Your Way to Your Breakthrough and Abounding Faith: 30 Bible Heroes Who Will Inspire You to Believe God for the Impossible are available on Amazon. I’m currently working on my third book and continue to blog.

I’m now feeling led to help raise up the next generation of Christian writers who have the gift of the pen and would like to bring glory to God through writing.

5 Bible Verses to Help You Wait on God Well!

Are you frustrated or anxious because you don’t see God moving in your life? Are you tempted to give up and walk away from all that God has promised you? Don’t quit in the middle of your journey!

Here are 5 Bible verses to help as you wait on God to move in your life:

  • “Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.” (Psalm 27:14)
  • “I wait for the Lord, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope. (Psalm 130:5)
  • “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint.” (Isaiah 40:31)
  • “We wait in hope for the Lord; he is our help and our shield.” (Psalm 33:20)
  • “I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry.” (Psalm 40:1)

I hope you will pray over, mediate, and memorize these verses and find more in the Bible. 5 Journal Writing Prompts

More and more people are telling me that they enjoy writing and would like to one day write a book. What a beautiful dream to have! I’m excited to announce that I’ve just launched a Book Writing Coaching program, which you can learn more about by clicking here.

I like to encourage folks to begin their writing journey by keeping a journal. Journaling helps you to record your life story and to save precious memories. Writing down your thoughts and reflections also help you to meditate and remember all that the Lord is speaking to your heart through His Word.

Not sure what to write in your journal?

Abounding Faith on TV

I recently had the pleasure of being invited by Pastor Luis Ortiz of Ebenezer Productions to talk about my books Waiting on God Well and Abounding Faith on his TV show. The interview aired live in Brooklyn and on Facebook Live. The above video is the Facebook Live version. I pray that what I shared in the video blesses you! I plan to share the fancier version of the video as soon as it’s ready.

As a writer, I’m more comfortable being behind-the-scenes but the Lord gives me the grace and courage to speak about Him in different settings including on live TV. All Glory to God!

I plan to keep speaking and writing as long as the Lord keeps giving me something to say!
