3 Bible Verses About Kindness

I’m continuing my series based on the Fruit of the Spirit found in Galatians 5:22-23, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.”

This month I’m focusing on the fruit of kindness. The Bible is filled with examples of people being kind to one another. There is David being kind to his late friend Jonathan’s son Mephibosheth by restoring his family’s land to him and giving him a seat at his banquet table (2 Samuel 9:7). Boaz was kind to Ruth by providing her a safe place to glean grain and giving her extra provision for her and her mother-in-law Naomi, who were both widows at the time (Ruth 2:8-23).

Jesus described what it looks like to love your neighbor and to be kind to them by sharing the parable of the good Samaritan who stopped to help the Jewish man who was left half dead by robbers on the road to Jericho. Although Jews and Samaritans despised each other, the Samaritan in Jesus’ parable bandaged the Jewish man’s wounds, took him to an inn and cared for him and paid the innkeeper to look after the wounded man until the kind Samaritan returned from his trip  (Luke 10:25-35).

What a powerful lesson on being kind even to your enemies!

Kindness is contagious. Ever get inspired by seeing someone hold the door open for a stranger or seeing someone pay a stranger’s bill at the register?

Kindness doesn’t have to cost a thing. A smile, a warm greeting and saying thank you are all great ways to be kind.

Kindness can leave a lasting impression on a person. Think back to when someone visited you when you were ill, shared an encouraging word with you or took time to pray for you. How did that make you feel?

We can sometimes be in such a rush or be so absorbed in our own lives and problems that we forget to be kind to those we encounter throughout our day.

As Christians, we’re called to be kind. Thankfully, we have the Holy Spirit living inside of us and He can give us the strength and grace to be kind and gentle to those we cross paths with in our busy lives.

Here are a few verses to encourage you as you go about being kind to others:

  • “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” (Ephesians 4:32)
  • “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” (John 13:34-35)
  • “Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.” (Colossians 3:12-14)

Today is a great day to start being more kind!

What intentional acts of kindness can you perform this week? Is there someone you could call, write or visit? Is there someone you can bless by treating them to a meal, watching their kids or running an errand for them?

I’d love to hear about some of your acts of kindness! Be sure to share them in the comments below. Blessings!

First Look at Abounding Faith’s New “NY Blessings” Collection!

I’m excited to share the latest additions to Abounding Faith’s online store! I hope the new “NY Blessings” collection will inspire you as you live by Abounding Faith!

The “NY Blessings” collection includes sporty T-shirts that are great to wear on group outreaches or outings. The motivational mug and journal are perfect for your quiet times. The tote bag, magnet and keychain make great gifts for any occasion.

I’ve used the term “NY Blessings” for some time now, but the ideas for these designs only came together this summer.

It’s nice to take a break sometimes from creating with words to create with images. It’s as if the more I create and pour out, the more the Lord fills me with new ideas. Glory!

Whether I’m writing, speaking or designing, I hope whatever the Lord allows me to create inspires you to live your God-given dreams and reminds you that God is Good!

If you’d like to see your state represented in a similar design, please let me know and I will consider adding a few items to the online store. For now, I hope you like the “NY Blessings” collection. May it encourage you and your friends as you go out to be a blessing and get blessed! I’d love to see photos of you and whichever items you choose to buy.

Thanks so much for your support! Your support of Abounding Faith’s online store, books, events and more help me to continue encouraging others on their faith journey. Blessings!

What’s New at Abounding Faith?

July has been an interesting mix of enjoying the present, reflecting on the past, and preparing for what’s next.

It’s been a delight to be part of the small group of my friends who are studying Crossing Your Jordan River! It’s surreal to hear the group take turns reading the book out loud. I’m touched to hear how the book is blessing them. Some of the words used to describe the book are “powerful” and “challenging” and the questions at the end of the chapter were described as being “insightful.” At the end of our last meeting, one of the members said he couldn’t wait to read the next chapter. Glory to God!

There are currently three local groups studying my books. I hope Crossing Your Jordan River, Waiting on God Well, and Abounding Faith are on your summer reading list!

I’ve been so blessed by the positive feedback I’ve gotten from my current books that I’m inspired to keep writing. I’m thrilled to announce that I’ve started drafting my fourth book! This book will include my testimony and stories about my adventures on five short-term missions trips, multiple outreaches in New York City, and various other travels and experiences. God is so good!

I’m also planning my next event and will be adding more inspirational items to Abounding Faith’s online store.

I’m grateful that you’re on this journey with me. I appreciate all your encouragement and support. I hope you will continue to tell others about Abounding Faith’s books, online store, YouTube channel and more. Together we can continue to encourage people to live their God-given dreams!

If you’re feeling stuck on your journey to living your God-given dreams, I’d be delighted to be your Life Coach. And if your dream is to honor God by writing a book, you can learn more about my Book Writing Coaching program and my Book Writing Strategy Call.

I look forward to sharing more updates with you soon.

I pray you have a blessed rest of the summer!

3 Bible Verses About Patience!

I’m continuing my series based on the Fruit of the Spirit found in Galatians 5:22-23, “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.”

I have to admit that patience, or forbearance, is still not my favorite Fruit of the Spirit. I’ve gotten much better with waiting on God over the years, but it can still be struggle.

How about you? Are you waiting for a breakthrough in your finances, health, or personal life?

We’re all waiting on God for something, so it’s important how we wait.

I’m grateful for the Holy Spirit’s supernatural patience that helps us as we wait with expectancy for God to move in our lives and to fulfill His promises to us.

In my book Waiting on God Well: How to Prevent Breaking Down on Your Way to Your Breakthrough I share insights I’ve learned while waiting as well as encouraging Bible verses, actions steps, and reflection questions to help you during your season of waiting.

Here are just 3 Bible verses to help you during your waiting season:

  • “I remain confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.” (Psalm 27:13-14)
  • “He says, ‘Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.'” (Psalm 46:10)
  • “And so after waiting patiently, Abraham received what was promised.” (Hebrews 6:15)

There’s no short cut to becoming a patient person. It comes with much prayer, surrender to God’s timing, much practice with having patience with people, and with trusting that God is faithful and that He will see you through!

Waiting on God isn’t easy, but it is worth it! Blessings to you as you patiently wait in faith for God to move in your life as He has promised in the Bible and to your heart!

Crossing Your Jordan River Book – Update!

I’d like to take a moment to thank all of my Crossing Your Jordan River readers and to share about some of the doors the Lord is opening for my trio of books.

I’m delighted to share that pre-signed copies of Crossing Your Jordan River, Waiting on God Well, and Abounding Faith are now available in a bookstore that just opened in Lomita, CA. It’s a blessing to know that my books are on the West Coast. Glory to God! I hope you’ll tell your California friends about Pipe & Thimble Bookstore. If you swing by the store, I’d love to see pics!

I’m also excited to share that a few of my local friends are going to start studying Crossing Your Jordan River tonight. God is so Good! I’m honored and humbled. As I’m writing my books, I’m never quite sure who is going to read them. And when I’m writing the questions at the end of each chapter, I can envision groups studying the books together but I never know who will be in those groups. I’m grateful that I get to join my friends as they launch out on their faith journey together.

I’m also touched to know that my friends at Woodcrest Nursing Home and Rehab center are also studying Crossing Your Jordan River.

As you can tell, my readers are special to me. I love seeing photos of my readers. Here are just a few:

If my books have been a blessing to you, please feel free to snap a pic with your book and email it to me at info@AboundingFaith.com or post it on Abounding Faith’s Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram page. Kind and short Amazon reviews are also always appreciated.

I look forward to sharing more updates with you! Please stay tuned for more info about Abounding Faith’s fall event(s).

In the meantime, be sure to pick up copies of Crossing Your Jordan River, Waiting on God Well, and Abounding Faith in print or on Kindle on Amazon and tell your friends and small group or book club members about the trio. Once you all have your copies, why not consider hosting an Abounding Faith Book Social this summer? You can learn more about Abounding Faith Book Socials here.

Thanks for all of your support and encouragement! Blessings to you as you dare to live your God-given dreams and wait on God to fulfill His promises to you!

Reflections on Abounding Faith’s SOAR Women’s Conference!

God did it again! He gave me a dream/desire and then let me live that dream! He placed the word SOAR in my heart as a theme for this year, and He gave me the desire to have a women’s conference. After much praying and planning, the day finally arrived.

I’m so grateful to all the women who came to my very first women’s conference on Saturday! They were all so gracious and encouraging. We had a lovely time of fellowship, learning about God-given dreams, and praying and sharing some of those dreams.

I’m so touched by the feedback the ladies shared with me!  Here’s what one of the guests said was the best part of the conference for her:

“I was encouraged to pray and seek God for my life’s purpose.”

Wow, that statement alone is priceless and means my mission for this conference was accomplished!

Here’s a quick video from another guest. Priscilla is one of the leaders of Queens, NY AGLOW.

Here are a few pics with highlights from Saturday’s conference held at Open Bible Church International:

Here are some of the audacious dreamers & doers who wrote their dreams on our Dream Wall. (Inspired by Missions.Me and the Dream Walls our teams got to do with school kids on missions trips to Honduras and Peru).

The ladies were already asking about my next conference. Praise God!

I’m already praying about possibly having a co-ed conference in the fall. I hope you’re getting my monthly updates so you won’t miss any news.  If you’d like to be added to my mailing list, please email me at info@aboundingfaith.com.

I’d also love to come speak at your event! You can learn more about inviting me to come speak to your group here.

I’m grateful to my loving family, my fabulous volunteers, and my generous sponsors for all their support and encouragement.

A special thank you to my friends at Our Daily Bread and TBN NY for providing prizes and giveaways for my guests.

Here is a short video recap I shot after the conference:God is moving. I’m excited! Thanks for staying on this faith journey with me!

I pray you will be inspired to live your God-given dreams! God is Good and God loves YOU! Blessings!

Let’s SOAR Together at Abounding Faith’s Women’s Conference this Saturday!

It’s kind of surreal to know that my very first women’s conference is this Saturday!

I count it a privilege and honor to speak about my Lord and to encourage others to believe God and to live out their God-given dreams! I’m so grateful for every audacious dreamer and doer who is setting aside time in her busy schedule to be at Abounding Faith’s SOAR Women’s Conference! I have been praying and preparing for this event. I’m trusting that God will bless and meet each lady right where they are in their faith journey!

I believe God wants to birth new dreams and resurrect a few dreams for the women who are there on Saturday!

I’m delighted that the ladies attending the event are of different ages, life stages, backgrounds, and churches. The women are going to be a lovely mosaic and reflection of the beauty found in NYC!

I’m so thankful for all my volunteers and those individuals who have generously sponsored this event. I couldn’t hold these events without them! I’m also grateful to my friends at Our Daily Bread and TBN NY for providing prizes for the fun raffles we will be having.

I’ll be sure to share photos and reflections with you! Thanks for your prayers and encouragement.  To learn more about this Saturday’s conference, click here. Friday is the last day to register. Blessings!
