Here are three more videos I shot during my birthday visit to a castle. The messages are short and sweet. I hope they bless you!

God’s Princess Diaries (Part 1)

I’ve had such a lovely time celebrating my birthday this month. One of the highlights was the night I spent in a castle! I was so blessed soaking in all the sights inside and surrounding the castle. The Lord sure did spoil me this birthday! I was so inspired that I shot quite a few videos while there. I pray you are blessed and encouraged by the three short videos below. I’ll share three more next Monday. Blessings!

Waiting on God Well Book Update

It’s been awhile since my book Waiting on God Well launched. As I gear up for my latest Book Talk and Signing this Saturday, I’d like to share a bit about how things with the book are going! A Big Thank You to all my readers!

I’m so encouraged to hear how people are being touched by Waiting on God Well! As a writer, the biggest feat for me was simply getting all the words down. Sharing it with others and hearing their feedback has been such a blessing!

Readers are saying that they can’t put it down and that it’s speaking right into their situations. It’s resonating with women and men, young and older, and folks from all different backgrounds. Some are buying copies for their friends. They are being inspired as they wait on God for their promises. Glory!

To know that one small group is already studying my book is amazing. To be able to sit with them and hear what they had to share was an honor!

Getting to speak with the lovely ladies at The Bowery Mission Women’s Center was also a delight. I’m so touched to hear that Waiting on God Well has been added to their reading list and that two women are going to be writing book reports about it! Oh my!

Add to that, I got to lead a Connecting session at the recent Hope Gathering women’s conference. It was so special to gather with other women to talk, listen to each other, pray, and remind each other that Jesus is our Hope!

And I was interviewed for the podcast “Living At My Best With Donna Woolam” and the TV show “Open”.

Whoa, this is all part of what I’ve been waiting to do!

To just be free to talk to groups, large and small. To encourage folks one at a time and at gatherings. To me, this really does feel like living in the Promised Land!

Only God knows what else He has in store for this book and who else will be touched! If you would like me to come speak at your event or small group, please feel free to contact me. You can learn more here. God is moving! I’m so excited to be in the center of God’s will for my life, and I hope to inspire you as you continue on your journey!

If you’ve read Waiting on God Well and have been blessed by it, please leave your thoughts below or post a kind review on Amazon.

If you haven’t read it yet, you can grab your copy on Amazon.

I’ll leave you with a reader review from Amazon. Many blessings to you!

Waiting on God Well is a thought provoking quick read! It can be used as a daily devotional or a bible study guide. It is so versatile that small groups could use it as a weekly guide. The author has a lot of insight and gives good guidance on waiting on the Lord. I highly recommend it.”

Let’s Stay Connected

twitter-292994_1280I like to joke that I was one of the last 5 people on the planet who was not on social media. I just wasn’t into it. But now I see the beauty of staying connected, and I enjoy encouraging folks all over the world online.

My goal is to inspire you and to remind you that God is Good, God Loves You, and Nothing is Impossible for God! I pray that you will be encouraged by my words, whether you’re reading them or hearing them, and that they will point you back to Christ!

Here’s a little overview of some of the different ways we can stay connected:

  • I recently joined Twitter! You can find me at AboundInFaith. I try to post daily. I’ll usually start with a Bible verse and then tweet other updates or inspiring words throughout the day.
  • I’ve finally entered the world of Instagram. You can find me at AboundingFaith. I plan to post at least once a day for now. You can find inspiring images and other miscellaneous shots there.
  • I’m on Facebook. I’ve got my main Abounding Faith page and my Waiting on God Well Book page. I post inspirational verses and pics there throughout the day.
  • You can also find Abounding Faith on YouTube and Pinterest.

I hope to see you on some of the above platforms! And I hope you’ll like and share my posts with others. With all the negativity that is out there in the world, I pray my posts will be uplifting and will help inspire you on your faith journey! Blessings!

12 Free Journal Writing Prompts

manuscript-729617_1280

Over the years, quite a few people have shared with me that they enjoy writing and that they would like to write a book on day. Beautiful! One of the best things you can do is to start writing often. That includes keeping a journal. Did you know that when you sign up to receive my weekly blog posts e-mailed to you, you also get a free PDF file with 12 Journal Writing Prompts? Go ahead and sign up here. And enjoy this week’s post where I share my response to one of the journal writing prompts:

This Bible Verse has Been Speaking to Me Lately …

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” (Isaiah 41:10)

The above verse has been following me lately. It’s like the Lord is speaking to me in surround sound again. I heard it in a sermon right around the time that I was getting ready to Cross My Jordan. I’ve also been seeing it on social media.

It’s comforting to know that God is in charge of my life. He is in Control. I don’t have to fear. He is with me. And He is providing for me.

I love the reminder to not be afraid or discouraged. Why? Because God is all powerful. He is my strength. He will uphold me!

Friend, are you worried, anxious, or discouraged? Take heart knowing that God is alive and is working in your life. He will not fail you! Walking by faith may not be easy, but it is worth it!

Now it’s your turn? What Bible verse has been speaking to you lately? Feel free to share your answer in the comments below.

Here’s my response to the journal prompt “If You Could Chat With One Person From the Bible, Who Would it Be?”

Abounding Faith on YouTube

I’ve just posted my 40th short, encouraging video on the Abounding Faith YouTube Channel! Glory! This video is the welcome message for the channel. I hope you’re blessed by it. In honor of this happy milestone, I’d like to share a bit about the channel.

I blame it on my iPhone! When I upgraded my phone a few years ago, I couldn’t resist playing with my new front-facing camera. It was around the time that I was preparing to go on a short-term missions trip to Honduras. It was going to be an historic trip with 2,000 missionaries flooding the country with the love of Jesus.

The reporter in me was excited about recording footage in Honduras. And now not only could I narrate from behind the scenes, but I could actually be part of the videos thanks to my front-facing camera!

That’s how the Abounding Faith YouTube Channel was born. I wanted to make encouraging videos as an extension of my blog.

Over the weeks, months, and now years I have shot short, encouraging videos while on missions trips to Honduras and Peru, vacation in Europe and the Caribbean, and all throughout New York.

I’ve shot during winter, spring, summer, and fall. There are videos about my favorite Bible verses, this summer’s Luis Palau Festival, and the special greeting I made for the staff at Our Daily Bread.

My goal is to remind viewers that God loves you, He is closer than you think, and that nothing is impossible for God!

I hope you enjoy the videos and that you’ll subscribe to my channel. I plan to add a few more videos so stay tuned!

3 Bible Lessons From The Met

3 Lessons From The Met (3)

I recently decided to treat myself to a lovely day at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. I enjoyed getting lost in the exhibits and traveling from one time period and culture to another. It was fun meandering around and taking in the sights from ancient Egypt and Greece and seeing masterpieces from Vincent van Gogh, Claude Monet, and Pablo Picasso.

I could go on and on about all the beauty I saw, but for now I’d like to share the Biblical lessons that stood out to me. Yes, I saw God’s fingerprints all throughout the museum.

I hope the following photos and lessons will be a blessing to you!

1. We really can’t take things with us!

IMG_2630

The ancient Egyptians had the custom of being buried with their jewels and other possessions. They would probably be horrified to know that all these centuries later their treasures are on display for the world to see. These beautiful necklaces from one of the exhibits remind me that we really should be storing up treasures in heaven instead of trying to gain so much wealth and “stuff” in this life. “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moths and vermin destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moths and vermin do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” (Matthew 6:19-21)

2. The armor of God is the best suit ever!

IMG_2680

I tend to zoom past the war and weapon section of the museum, but this time I took my time looking at the different armor. And this uniform stood out to me the most because it reminded me of how I feel when I go into uncertain territory including missions trips and outreaches. When I step out in faith, I don’t go in my name but in the name of Jesus. And I don’t go alone because the Holy Spirit lives inside of me! I’m reminded that no weapon formed against me shall prosper! The blood of Jesus covers believers from head to toe! Here’s what our real armor looks like: “Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. (Ephesians 6:11-18)

3. The sword of the Spirit trumps them all!

IMG_2683

These swords are all very impressive. The soldiers must have felt unstoppable wielding them, but I’m reminded that the Word of God found in the Bible is even stronger! There is great power in speaking the Word of God! We can use it to fight off the enemy just like Jesus did. The Word of God also has power when we read it and apply it to our own lives. “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” (Hebrews 4:12)
