Find Beauty in Every Season

Seeing snow during Christmas is nice. Being walloped by snowstorm after snowstorm throughout January and February, not so much!

I’m definitely tired of shoveling the same path over and over again only to have it covered with mounds of fresh snow. I’ve had enough of almost literally cross-country skiing and ice skating all the way to the train station every day. Getting to work shouldn’t be an Olympic sport!

I think it’s safe to say that most folks in this area are tired of winter.

But having said all that, there is a beauty to this season. I snapped the picture above on a recent sunny day when the snow was soft and thick and my neighborhood looked like a winter wonderland.

If we stop for a moment and look around, we might be happily surprised by all the loveliness right where we are.  There is something so beautiful about the different seasons.

Winter won’t last forever. Spring will be here in a few weeks (thank God!)

In the meantime, it’s important to remain mindful of all the blessings in this season.

The same is true in our lives. Are you in a “winter” season right now? Please take heart that it won’t last forever! Seasons do Change!

God is at work in your life. You may not see it, but that doesn’t mean God isn’t orchestrating things behind the scenes and preparing you for what’s to come.

Looking outside right now, it seems ridiculous to think that flowers will soon be budding all around, but even now they’re getting ready. Just give it a bit more time and they’ll sprout before our eyes!

Don’t give up just because things may look bleak today. Find the miraculous lovely in each day and rejoice. And remember, spring is coming!

God’s ways are not our ways. His thoughts are not our thoughts. His timing is not our timing. But His timing is perfect. There’s a mystery to God, but that’s OK. We don’t have to understand everything He’s doing. We just need to trust Him! When we know how much God loves us, it makes it that much easier to trust Him with every detail of our lives. Then we can be content in whatever season we’re in!

“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”
(Galatians 6:9)
